CABIN
by lake Kikkejaure
Canoe
and/or boat with motor
There are
2 floating wests available - Use them, the water can
be be cold. Please
use the canoe on the lake only - it´s plastic and will crack riding
down a river. Safety first!
The boatmotor runs on 95 Octane Gasoline
Oli = 4 Tact oil.
On the gastank there is a small airscrew -
this needs to be opened to get the motor running ok. Don´t
use the motor in shallow water - If the propeller hits a rock
it will need repair.
Fresh drinking water
There is a 25 litre tank that You can fill up with drinking
water at a close by freshwater spring or at gasstations in Arvidsjaur
or Alvsbyn. You can if You want drink the running water in the
house - It is lake water, most people use it for drinking.
Garbage
In Sweden garbage is cleaned and sorted
- Also in the wilderness. You can take sorted garbage to Arvidsajur
or Alvbyn. Dont throw it in the nature!

ON BEERCANS AND WINEBOTTLES YOU GET A REFUND IF NOT BROKEN
Some stuff
can be burned but not in the fireplace, please! Make a
fire on the beach.
Electricity
- THUNDER & LIGHTENING
Included. Turn off when THUNDER
AND LIGHTENING. The whole house can be shut down OUTSIDE the front porch,
in a metal box. Broken fuses can be changed in the bedroom.
HOT
WIRE ABOVE THE KITCHEN SHELF - DON`T TOUCH IT
Firewood
Included.
But You don´t need to make a fire to heat the house - only for
the charm of a fire.
Washing clothes
By hand with hot and cold water. Washing
bucket and ropes for drying available in the house. Easy and
oldstyle :-)
Fishing
You´re allowed to do fishing all over Kikkejaure Lake and in the
smaller lake beneth the bridge. You can also fish in the river beneth
the smaller lake.
My personel idea of fishing:
I never kill more fish than I can eat.
Catch-and-release
for ecological reasons :-)
Dry
Toilet
After using the toilet put one cup of toilet-powder in toilet.
You´ll also find a white bucket with a lid marked "P".

This can be used by the ladies indoors (night-time). We men just go
outdoor behind the toilet-building and "P" towards the lake.
If the bucket gets full You´ll need to emty it. I´ll show
you where to do that. You´ll need a beer after this job :-)

- Clothes for all weather inclusive rain
- Breakfast food
What
to do on departure
Turn off elements, empty refridgerator
from fresh food. Turn off all electricity inside and outside house.

THIS IS NOT THE RITZ
In late Sept - Oct I turn off the summer water (too keep the pipes from
freezing). Then You can use public baths in Arvidsjaur or Alvsbyn for
a weekly Swim and Sauna. |
